Perception and communication are inevitably linked. How and what a person perceives is entirely subjective and shaped by a multitude of individual factors. This exhibition explores the significance of perception in interpersonal relationships.

Exhibition

At the beginning of the exhibition there are two stations that are to be passed first: the opener and interpersonal perception. From this point on, the order of the stations is no longer important, as they thematically influence and complement each other. The Closer then forms the conclusion of the exhibition.

Station cards

For each station there is a card that serves as a deeper level of information for the visitors in the exhibition, as well as a collection to take away afterwards. In this way, visitors can decide for themselves when and how much in-depth information they would like to receive. The design of each individual card represents its station.

Interactive participation

Visual, auditory and interactive elements give informative input but also encourage people to reflect on their own perceptions and question the way they communicate.

Visual theme

The visual theme of the exhibition deals with blurredness. We want to create a visual representation that illustrates the subjectivity of perception. Various influencing factors and perception filters make us see reality and our fellow human beings in a blurred way. We want to create awareness for this.

Typography

When choosing the typography, we looked for fonts that were not too hard and cool, but had a more sensitive, rounded and organic feel. We chose the sans serif Forma DJR Display for large macro typography and headlines. We complemented this with the serif Reckless Neue for subheads and body text. The combination of these fonts creates a harmonious typeface that also meets all the requirements of exhibition typography.
